  1. You guys should invite the Survey Corps Dance Crew they always make the crowd go wild with many original dance numbers many Otaku’s will love I hope you might think of inviting them to your con!

  2. Please invite Rikki Simons, the voice of Gir from Invader Zim! Or pretty much any voice actor from Invader Zim. It doesn’t have to be just Invader Zim, why not ones from other old childhood favorites such as PPG and stuff? That would be interesting!

    1. Rhiamae,

Believe me, we love Invader Zim too, but this is our first year and we have to keep the budget in mind. Protoculture Con is first and foremost about Robotech, although all anime fandom is certainly welcome! We are going to focus our efforts on getting guests who are related to Robotech. Of course, many of the Robotech cast and crew have hundreds of credits to their name, such as Tony Oliver, who has worked on Ah My Goddess, Akira, Power Rangers, Bleach, Naruto, Eureka Seven, Gurren Lagann, Squid Girl (one of my personal favorites), and Tenchi Muyo (another of my favorites). These are just a few he’s done, and the same can be said of many of the guests we are either planning to have, or are in negotiations with.

So, as much as we would love to get Rikki Simons, unfortunately, there just isn’t any overlap between the cast of Zim and Robotech. My advice would be to check IMDB for actors or crew from your favorite shows, who also worked on Robotech. There’s still time for suggestions. We probably won’t finalize the guest list till the end of the month.

  3. okay, i gotta ask the obvious: This is a mini convention/event based around/specifically featuring Robotech. Whats with all the non-robotech guest requests/name dropping? o_O

Its kinda like going to a website for a Star Trek convention/event and saying “omg, you guys should really have *insert name of person that had/has absolutely nothing to do with Star Trek*.

    1. Actually, we’ve even had a couple of non-Robotech voice actors ask for an invite. I had some really mixed feelings about that! I really wanted to say yes, but we really can’t go spending con money on non-Robotech related guests.

  4. I’m sure you guys may have tried… But may I suggest bringing Cam Clarke, who voiced Max Sterling and Lancer? He has also done a number of characters, such as Leonardo from TMNT, Flounder from Little Mermaid 2, Dogtanian, and sang for Simba in the Lion King sequel. He’s really talented and I’m sure there would be a huge turnout at the con if he were to come.

    1. We actually reached out to several guests who weren’t able to make it for one reason or another. But hey, we got ten of them! I’m really happy with that number! I never would have guessed when we started planning this thing last year that we would get as many as we did. And don’t forget there’s still time to get tickets to the dinner Saturday night where you can hang out with the guests outside the con environment! Its going to be a great time!

  5. Wow! This blog looks exactly like my olld one! It’s on a entirely different topic but it haas peetty much the same layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!
